Welcome To All Of Our
Supporters & Visitors...
As we entered into the New Year, we were presented with new challenges.
Although we were feeling a financial crunch as we approached our annual walk last September, we still had a record turn out of walkers and rose close to $60,000.00. Thank you to everyone who participated – the walkers and the volunteers, the borough of New Hope and the city of Lambertville and to our host, the New Hope-Solebury High School, we are forever grateful for your generosity and cooperation.
And now we are back to it, trying to raise the necessary funds that allow us to provide the emergency funding to individuals with HIV/AIDS who are in desperate need of the basic necessities of life, but due to illness cannot afford their rent, utility, medication, and other monthly expenses.
We started out the year with a terrific Mexican inspired bingo that was generously sponsored by Poco’s of Doylestown. For all of you who attended you remember what a new twist we brought to that evening, with more of the same planned for the future. Get your 1960’s on for May 12th, as it is “Flower Power Bingo”.
We also have our yearly themed event coming up on Saturday evening, May 30th.
This year we are “celebrating” the Great Depression and Prohibition with our party “TIN PAN ALLEY – A SUMMER SPEAKEASY. It’s going to be a riot of mid-1920s to mid-1930s “Jazz Age” music, dancing, drink, and eats! The “New Hope Collective” will be playing classic “Charleston’s” and their own special modern dance jazz arrangements. Ted Stevie will be spinning and Miss. Pumpkin is producing a fast and furious/curious mini-show. David Teague will be providing the visuals of the era. We will have dance hall girls and paper boys for all of you who may be in need of a quick date for dancing, although with inflation its now 1000 cent a dance! Our “Bowery Bar” will be serving beer, wine and our own special drink concoctions – straight out of the bathtub! And of course we will be feeding you through our “Eat At Joe’s” bread line! There will be a Thrift Shop and our own special tabloid broadsheet. So come on out all you flappers and prepsters, gangstas and molls. Who knows when a hot craps game may spike up in the back alley! And guess what? It’s only going to be 4500 cents to get in, for all of that – how could you possibly stay home?
Our walk is coming up September 27th and it will be the 10th anniversary. Click here for complete details.
And please remember gang, we always need volunteers for all of our events, so call us or email us if you can help out in any way. We are also now set up with PaPal, so you can donate online with us.
And finally, HIV/AIDS is still a major pandemic worldwide. There is no cure yet. The available therapies work well for some and fail at some point for others. FACT serves the following areas: Bucks County in Pennsylvania, and Hunterdon and Mercer Counties in New Jersey and these counties are all still seeing a rise in the newly infected. And we here at FACT are there for anyone in need, when the need arises.
Until there’s a cure, we need your help.
Thanking you all,
Morrie Breyer
