FACT Bucks County to receive the Beyond the Rainbow Award at SOLAP

The 2014 recipient of Planned Parenthood Keystone’s Beyond the Rainbow Award is FACT Bucks County for its extraordinary support and consciousness for our LGBTQA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, and Allies) programs, Planned Parenthood, and the greater LGBTQA community.  FACT, Fighting Aids Continuously Together, will receive the award at the agency’s event, Sing Out Loud & Proud (SOLAP) on Saturday, April 26th at 3 p.m. in the RRazz Room at the Ramada in New Hope.

Since 1992 FACT Bucks County has dedicated itself to raise funds to provide financial assistance to individuals affected by HIV and AIDS in Bucks, Hunterdon and Mercer Counties.  When all other funding resources have been exhausted, FACT steps in to provide emergency funding that covers medication, electric and heating, counseling, transportation, rent, and other personal financial needs.

FACT also engages in funding community organizations that provide education programs and awareness campaigns to prevent the spread of HIV.  Planned Parenthood Keystone has been a recipient of FACT grants to provide education programs and support for its LGBTQA programs –  including The Rainbow Room in Bucks County. More information about FACT events can be found at www.factbuckscounty.org.

SOLAP is Planned Parenthood Keystone’s annual event in Bucks County to raise funds for the agency’s education outreach including their LGBTQA programs.  It will be held on April 26th at 3 p.m. in the RRazz Room at the Ramada in New Hope.  This year’s performer is none other than Jill Sobule, singer, song-writer, guitarist and gypsy.  She topped the charts with her hit ‘I Kissed A Girl.’  For more information about SOLAP, call 610-7096061, or email to adolak@planitpa.org.
